# 404 Error when previewing/publishing posts

 * Just started happening today; when I create a post, hitting Preview or Publish
   takes me to a 404 page. Same if I click on the draft of the post to go back and
   edit it.
 * I’ve disabled all plugins and cleared the cache.
 * It happens regardless of what is contained in the post. I’ve tried with images
   only, text only, and blank.

 * That’s very strange. It sounds like perhaps an issue with htaccess/permalinks.
   Try going to “Settings” –> “Permalinks” and simply resave the page to reset them
   and see if that helps.

 * Unfortunately, that didn’t do it.
 * I also just noticed that I’m unable to edit any of my past posts. I’m always 
   taken to 404.
 * Same with trying to edit pages.

 * OK, so I found an answer elsewhere. I downloaded a fresh install of WordPress
   and, via ftp, replaced everything except wp-config.php and the folder/contents
   of wp-content. Back up and running.
