# 404 errors and blank TinyMCE

 * After I updated WordPress and my plugins, the visual editor went blank. Firebug
   shows a bunch of 404 errors. These files actually all seem to exist but WordPress
   throws a 404 error anyway. I can access most ressources directly in my browser,
   for instance [http://www.mysite.com/wp-content/themes/mytheme/logo.png](http://www.mysite.com/wp-content/themes/mytheme/logo.png),
   but not the ones creating the issue: they return a 404 although they exist in
   the queried location.
 * I tried turning off javascript concatenation as advised [here](https://wordpress.org/support/topic/visual-editor-not-responding-1/)
   but that didn’t work.
 * I tried deactivating all plugins, as well as reinstalling WP 4.6.1 to no avail.
   
   I have a dev copy of the site where everything is fine.
 * Any ideas?

 * It was a permissions issue: a folder inside the theme (containing all the files
   triggering the 404 errors) was set to 700 instead of 755…
