 * I can’t figure out if this is tracking 404 pages as 404 events. Please let me
   know.

 * No, but you can use “Advance Segments” in Google analytics to see all hits onto
your 404 page. For example the page title of my 404 page is “Page Not Found.”
So I created an advance segment that only shows me page hits that have a page
title that contains “page not found.” The segment applies to all of your data
so you can see the traffic source leading to the 404 and what the visitor searched
for, etc. It also works on the Real-Time report. [http://support.google.com/analytics/answer/1033017?hl=en](http://support.google.com/analytics/answer/1033017?hl=en)
