Make the most recent post appear on a specified page of my site

Hi,

I would like to have my most recent post appear on a seperate page of my site.

My blog is at: http://www.mysite.com/blog/

But I would like the most recent post to appear on http://www.mysite.com/welcome.html and then I would put a link underneath that to the rest of my blog.

I’m sure this is possible by some sort of include, however as the page I want to put it on is not php I think it will create a problem.

Any ideas are much appreciated 🙂
