# 500 Internal Error when Itheme Security Plugin is activated

 * When I have activated the Ithemes Security plugin then a 500 internal server 
   error appears.
 * How can I solve this?

 * I understand that you’re experiencing some issues with installing the iThemes
   Security Pro plugin.
 * Error 500 can be caused by different things, which includes the following:
    1. A corrupt .htaccess file.
 * I’ll suggest regenerating the .htaccess file to be certain it’s not corrupted.

 *  2. A plugin/theme conflict.
 * We’ll like you to please proceed with a conflict test. But, first, create a recent
   backup in case you lose any settings during the trial and have to restore to 
   a previous working state.
