I have performed the steps you suggested on some of the other threads but now when I try to go back into my site it says the following. Look at the link. It is asking me to install WordPress. Is there a way to repair this? Please help asap.

I checked the link above and your site is loading normally so it looks like you fixed things already. Is the problem fixed? Do you have any other questions? Thanks.

Everything is indeed working but I had to get assistance from my hosting provider to disable the plugin where it locked everything down. I wanted to use the plugin on my new site that is launching but it just was too complicated to setup. Thank you.

Sorry to hear there were unusual complications/difficulties setting up BPS on your web host server. BPS is usually very simple and easy to setup, but there are some web hosts out there that BPS will just not work on correctly due to additional things that the web host is doing with their servers. πŸ˜‰ That ratio is somewhere around 10 web hosts to 20,000 web hosts total worldwide.

I appreciate the response back to me. I would attempt it again I am just not sure seeing how last time it crashed my website.

And just to be clear I am not saying that what those web hosts are doing is a bad thing. In most cases, those web hosts have already implemented some type of security on their host servers and there is a direct conflict with BPS security code and the security measures that the web host is already using. So it is just a matter of things being incompatible with each other and nothing wrong with either things. πŸ˜‰

We were posting at the same time. Let me check some things about your web host and see if there is a known compatibility issue.

    Ok great. Thank you.

Hmm interesting. the BuiltWith site says your host is InMotion, but Whois says your host is SiteGround. In any case, BPS is compatible with both of these web hosts.

I am now checking your site for possible plugin conflicts/incompatibilities.

Did a quick DNS check and everything looks fine with your subdomain setup:

Ok the demo subdomain site is a BuddyPress/bbPress Forum site and BPS works fine with BuddyPress/bbPress. We use BuddyPress/bbPress for our forum site. All other plugins that you have installed are compatible/no known conflicts with BPS. Your main domain is in Maintenance Mode, but since the subdomain site is setup correctly – A record in DNS – then the 2 sites are completely independent of each other, with the exception of a parent to child .htaccess file hierarchical relationship. More on that later if you feel like attempting the BPS plugin setup again. So since everything appears to check out/is OK in general then either a procedural error occurred or something else that I am not seeing by externally checking the site.

If you want to try to setup BPS again then I will post the steps to quickly fix/reverse the problem that occurred before. Let me know if you want to proceed or not. Thanks.

Thank you for checking in to all of this. My main site is in maintenance mode. My subdomain the demo is our dev site. Our website is launching on 3-16-15. So we are transitioning off of demo to our regular domain which is thenerdstash.com. Would you be able to help or do the setup for me if I gave you login access? Is BulletProof better than Wordfence?

The WP Forum rules frown on asking for or accepting logging into someone else’s site so I will just say this. Let’s say you hypothetically directly sent us an email. We would probably say yes to that request. πŸ˜‰

    Is BulletProof better than Wordfence?

Hmm you don’t think that I would say Wordfence is better than BPS right? ha ha ha. Personally we think BPS is better than Wordfence, but that is a biased opinion of course. πŸ˜‰

    Thread Starter jeremymh

    (@jeremymh)

Well lets say I hypothetically email you the login details….would you set it up completely for me and work it work well? Guess that was dumb of me to ask if Wordfence was better than your product. πŸ™
