 * Hi,
 * First post on this forum, so please have a little patience!
 * I was hoping if someone could help me with ‘author.php’
 * Currently this creates a page at [http://www.globaltravelpack.com/blog/?author=1](http://www.globaltravelpack.com/blog/?author=1)
 * When I would like it to say something like [http://www.globaltravelpack.com/blog/username](http://www.globaltravelpack.com/blog/username)
 * Any of the posts or tricks with permalinks just dont seem to work.
 * Thanks
 * Tim

 * Hmm–changing to the **Day and name** permalink structure changes my author url
   to what you are seeking.
 * See [Administration](http://codex.wordpress.org/Administration_Panels) > [Settings](http://codex.wordpress.org/Administration_Panels#Permalinks)
   > [Permalinks](http://codex.wordpress.org/Settings_Permalinks_SubPanel)

 * Go to your Dashboard -> Settings -> Permalinks and change it from default to
   custom, and type
 * > /%postname%.html
 *  then save changes!
 * After all these, your pages will be changed from :
 * > globaltravelpack.com/blog/?author=1 to globaltravelpack.com/blog/username
 * Hope this help!

 * One of the provided permalinks structures is preferable, and any(except default–
   aka off) should give you pretty author URLs.
