I’ve looked at the db, and the actual db table (_ac_abandoned_cart_history_lite) has been truncated to 41 entries, as opposed to the 1726 on my staging site. How could the DB table been damaged like this?

There is nothing present in the latest update 5.6.1 of our Lite plugin that will delete the abandoned orders data. Can you please let us know what value you have set for “Automatically Delete Abandoned Orders after X days” setting? If you have set some value there then it is possible that the abandoned carts might have deleted after those X days.
The setting Automatically Delete Abandoned Orders after X days is located at WooCommerce -> Abandoned Carts -> Settings -> General Settings.

Please check the same and let us know. So that we will get an idea of how all abandoned orders got deleted from your site.

Thanks for your reply. I checked the field “Automatically Delete … after X days”, and it is blank. It is a mystery, then? I’ll continue to monitor, I haven’t imported old data from the staging site, new abandoned carts are being added to the table, so I’ll watch and if it happens again, I’ll try and figure out the cause then.
I’m not sure what is happening. New abandoned carts are being added for a time, but I’ve had a look again today, and the table has been rewritten. I had 45 entries at one point yesterday, today there are 42 entries. One of the entries in the table today is another employee who wasn’t even on the site.
If you can’t offer me any other explanation, I’ll have to uninstall your plugin and look for another solution.
