# About PayPal IPN Changes – Everybody switch to HTTPS?

 * I have just received an email from Paypal about some changes being made soon.
 * It states that
 * > On September 30, 2016 “IPN postbacks to [http://www.paypal.com](http://www.paypal.com)
   > only allow HTTPS”

 * Is this something we need to take actions as shop owners? Do we need to switch
   to https if we want to continue using PayPal?

 * As long as you have updated your site to use HTTPS and you have set your IPN 
   URL in PayPal to use HTTPS, there should not be any changes necessary.

 * I am not using HTTPS yet. What I am concerned about is does this change make 
   it essential to switch to HTTPS?
