I at first gave this plugin 1 star and the crappy review below, but I WAS WRONG!

“I installed it and tried to make a new form but the entire page was blank. No fields to add or buttons to click. Junk!”

The support team responded immediately to my confusion and helped me to make the adjustments needed for the plugin to work with my particular theme – Weaver Xtreme.

Now the plugin works well and deserves the 5 stars that I’ve added.

    Hey @billymartin 👋

So sorry to hear that! Would you like us to help?

I have a hunch HappyForms must be conflicting with either your theme or another plugin you have enabled. If you try switching theme or disabling those other plugins just temporarily, we can check.

Let us know! We’d really love to help.

I would love your help. Seems like it would be a good plugin. Is there still a free version?

    (@thethemefoundry)

Absolutely @billymartin! You can find a list of upgraded features here, but everything else not listed there is included in the free version. That includes email confirmations when someone fills out your form 😀

Would you please share a link to the page you’re working on? Also, did you happen to try disabling any other plugins you have just to see if it’s a code conflict?

    Let us know!

I think you’re misunderstanding. I didn’t even get that far.

First, when I tried to search for Happyforms through wordpress plugins, it wasn’t listed.

    So, I downloaded happyforms.1.8.8.zip

It installed okay and asked me for an email. Below, it said skip and continue, so I did that.

Happyforms installed, but when I clicked on the sample form, the entire page came up blank. When I tried to create a new form, the same thing happened.

I did finally get it to come up with the Astra Theme, but not with my favorite theme, Weaver Xtreme. I love Weaver Xtreme because it lets you control just about every setting and it has over 10,000 active installs.

Can you please figure out the problem?

I got this email from WordPress and after going into safemode, Happyforms did come up.

    EMAIL:
Since WordPress 5.2 there is a built-in feature that detects when a plugin or theme causes a fatal error on your site, and notifies you with this automated email.

In this case, WordPress caught an error with your theme, Weaver Xtreme.

First, visit your website (https://sitesculptors.com/) and check for any visible issues. Next, visit the page where the error was caught (https://sitesculptors.com/wp-admin/customize.php?return=https%3A%2F%2Fsitesculptors.com%2Fwp-admin%2Fedit.php%3Fpost_type%3Dhappyform&happyforms=1&form_id=64755) and check for any visible issues.

Please contact your host for assistance with investigating this issue further.

If your site appears broken and you can’t access your dashboard normally, WordPress now has a special “recovery mode”. This lets you safely login to your dashboard and investigate further.

    https://sitesculptors.com/wp-login.php?action=enter_recovery_mode&rm_token=00a2pEL631IrbBtDTnghYA&rm_key=Pcnyvau4e363j6suZYbZEP

To keep your site safe, this link will expire in 1 day. Don’t worry about that, though: a new link will be emailed to you if the error occurs again after it expires.

Thanks for sharing all the details, @billymartin!

Both Weaver Xtreme and HappyForms interact with WordPress Customizer interface heavily. As it turns out, that can often lead into conflicts which is exactly what happened here.

As much as we’d like to patch it up, it’s not something that can be fixed directly in our code. The issue is caused by Weaver script that makes its way into HappyForms screen.

Luckily, we already came up with a simple fix on how to make the two work in this thread. Would you mind following instructions mentioned in this reply and see if it works for you?

We wish there was an easier way to fix this and we’re sorry! Be sure to let us know if that patches it up for you. We’ll be happy to help!

That seemed to work. Thank you. What did that line of code do that I modified and will it possibly damage another part of the theme?

    thethemefoundry

    (@thethemefoundry)

We’re happy to hear that, @billymartin!

The line of code you added prevents Weaver Xtreme theme from enqueuing a script on HappyForms screen that breaks it. The script is loaded everywhere else where it’s supposed to, so it won’t damage any part of your theme at all.

Hope this clears things out! 🙂
