 * I accidentally changed my db password. But I changed back and I still get the
   same error.
I checked wp.config and everything appears perfect.
 * I read previous answers and one issue was the same–someone accidentally changed
the name and then changed it back.
 * The advice was to reset the privs.
If this is what I need to do, how do I do
this? If not, what should I do?
 * The page I need help with: _[[log in](https://login.wordpress.org/?redirect_to=https%3A%2F%2Fwordpress.org%2Fsupport%2Ftopic%2Faccidentally-changed-database-name%2F%3Foutput_format%3Dmd&locale=en_US)
   to see the link]_

 * Did you switch hosts? If so, make sure you are looking at the wp-config.php file
   on the new hosting service.
 * Once you find a fix please tag the thread as resolved. Thank you.

 * Can you check if the db user indeed has all the privileges to access the site’s
   database?
 * If not, you can use phpMyAdmin to grant all privileges to the database being
   used.

 * Do you have access to phpMyAdmin, Or CPanel.
 * Check your DB and DB User credentials and Privileges.

 * From cpanel file manager, I checked the privs in wp.config and they matched,
   where else should I check?
 * I am changing hosts, but this blog was always with the same host–the original
host was so unresponsive to support I had to rebuild rather than migrate and
so this is a rebuilt blog–easy to rebuild again, but rather not. I have the content
saved, but full backups were corrupt.

 * Yeas, sure…somewhere other than wp.config? I could easily be missing something
or everything, this tech stuff is not natural to me.

 * How?

 * I’d advise contacting your host and asking for help at this point. Be very nice
and tell them what we have suggested and they should be able/willing to get you
   back online.
