• So, I’m building my first website using ACF coming from WPToolset. I’d love to have an article providing more details about ACF, Gutenberg & Blocks…for example: I installed https://ww.wp.xz.cn/plugins/acf-extended/ and thought it would just enable me to create a new WP Page, and, using Gutenberg, allow me to show data from one of my custom post types created using ACF. I have a “Services” post type with a bunch of ACF fields — but can’t seem to figure out how to display anything in the front-end. Do I need to buy the Pro version or am I missing something?

    Thank you!

    Hello,

    Thanks for the feedback!

ACF Pro already has a Block Type feature which let you create Gutenberg blocks with ACF fields and display them on the front-end.

I would recommend to read some tutorials online to understand how it works and how to use it. Here are few resources to start with:

ACF Extended (this plugin) is an addon for ACF Pro, whichs add a lot of new features and fields. However, there’s not many things related to Gutenberg/ACF Block Types, since the plugin is more focused around deep logic and fields behavior. The only feature related to the ACF Block Type in this plugin is the Block Type UI, which let you register ACF Block Types using an interface, instead of using PHP code.

I don’t think you should buy the ACF Extended Pro version, since it won’t give you any new tools for Gutenberg. I would just recommend to dive in the links I shared above, you already have a lot to discover and learn with ACF Pro & Gutenberg alone.

If you need further assistance with the ACF Block Types feature, you can head over the ACF Forum Support, there’s a big community of developers and users who can answer your questions there.

    Hope it helps!

    Have a nice day!

    Regards.
