Hi, I have installed the plugin and play around with it to see how it works. I try to create a new page in wordpress and then add podcasts episodes on my page (right column), but the player is always displayed on the bottom of the page above the footer. Is that by default or am I getting it wrong? I would like to place x number of podcast episodes anywhere I want on my page. Can that be done?

PowerPress isn’t designed to work with WordPress Pages. It’s designed to work with Posts. You can add one Podcast Episode to one Post. You can’t add multiple Episodes to a single Post.

    Hello @shawnogordo,

Podcasting is an extension to blogging. A blog feed is nothing more than a list of blog posts organized by date. Podcast episodes are the same plus media file and additional iTunes tags. This is why podcasting works so well with WordPress and PowerPress.

Pages are not organized by date, but instead organized by a tree structure, a parent/children type model. Because of this, pages do not work very well for feed syndication. They can be used in this way, but it is not how WordPress was designed. Pages do not have feeds normally, to see a feed of your pages I think you need to build a weird URL, something like example.com?post_type=page&feed=rss (don’t quote me on that). A normal blog feed is example.com/feed/ which will hold all blog posts and podcast episodes, and if you want a podcast only feed, PowerPress provides that with example.com/feed/podcast/

As far as showing a website with multiple episodes on a page, again this functions just like blogs on a WordPress site. Out of the box WordPress shows the latest 10 posts on your main page then as you browse deeper you can go page after page in “archive” views of 10 past posts per page. If you want to see how this works, please check out our flagship podcast, http://www.powerpresspodcast.com.

    Thanks,
    Angelo
