This may be a plugin or theme conflict. Please attempt to disable all plugins, and use one of the default (Twenty*) themes. If the problem goes away, enable them one by one to identify the source of your troubles.

De Activated all extra plugins, even deleted them
Theme developers say ‘I have just checked our Merlin theme and Merlin Pro plugin. I can not find any issues or problem with them, everything works fine. Please also note that our theme does not add Javascript to the backend of WordPress, and therefore should not be responsible for any errors there.
If it still does not work with all plugins deactivated I recommend to go to Dashboard > Updates and click on “Re-install now” to reinstall WordPress Core
and yes I have re installed WordPress Core!

No, I still cant add media, so now being a novice I am raly stumped!

Theme Zee could come up with no answer, I have deleted WordPress and re-installed and started from scratch and all seems to be working well.
I am logging every change I make to see if and what caused this issue
