# Add PHP Cron Missing

 * Surprised I couldn’t find anyone else with this issue.
 * The Add PHP Cron Event tab is not present, just the Add Cron Event. Is this hosting
   related or am I missing something? I don’t see any error messages.

 * Is file editing disabled on the site? ie. can you use the plugin or theme editors?
 * For security purposes, the PHP cron functionality is now only available to users
   who have permission to edit files (the `edit_files` capability).

 * Plugin editor is not disabled but theme editor is. If that is the issue then 
   I can enable it and it should show up?

 * It depends how it’s being disabled, but yes that should fix it. Let me know how
   you get on.
 * P.S. the PHP cron event functionality is somewhat of a legacy feature. You might
   want to have a think about whether what you want to achieve by using it can be
   done another way instead.
