Add text to thumbnail

    I am newby to WP. Liked what I saw with plugin Visual Portfolio but cannot do what I saw. I want text under the picture that appears if you rollover the thumbnail
    (Items style = Emerge. Show title = On, Showdate has three options where with two there appears text)
    How do I get text under the ‘thumbnail’?
