# Adding a span to Formats->Inline

 * Hi, I was just looking for a feature that would enable me to wrap text in a span
   tag, like you can wrap a whole paragraph in a p tag in blocks.
 * Can I just change something to the plugins backend? If so, can you give me example
   code?

 * You can find lots of example code on the internet, but I don’t recommend changing
   the plugin’s code. That would mean you will have to redo your changes every time
   the plugin is updated. Much better approach is to make a (super) small WP plugin
   and add your code there. It is pretty simple and there are even more examples
   you can copy everywhere 🙂
