# Adding attributes to IDs

 * I’m trying to add Salvattore masonry to my Genesis front page, but I’m already
   stuck on this: <div id=”grid” data-columns>
    In Genesis this would mean my markup
   should read as <main class=”content” id=”genesis-content” data-columns> How can
   I do this? As you can see data-columns is neither a class nor an ID.

 * By the way, I tried Sridhar Katakams code but can’t get it to work.

 * Is it? I thought that there would be a rather general way to do this, being a
   markup thing, but I will ask them.

 * Markup is pretty much entirely the domain of the theme. But I do know that Genesis
   does a lot of things through hooks and it might not be as simple as just editing
   a template.
