Adding certain links stops page showing up

    Hi,

    I wonder if anyone has encountered this issue / knows what it might be. I’ve never come across it before in years of using WP.

    When links are added to a page (mostly when they are external, but sometimes internal), the page content will stop showing when ‘view page’ is selected.

    It’s still there in the admin, but won’t show on the live site / preview. It’s done it since the first install periodically.

    I’ve tried everything I can think of, but cannot get it fixed. It’s not every link – only one or two.

    I have same problem hopefully adding to your post will get our answer sooner rather than…….!!

    To add I have just started creating the site so issue is only on one page link out of six, however still a bit of an issue.

    I also note I have the page included in the Top Primary Menu and this page also will not show when selected.

    The page was created on the same day and time as the other pages that function without issue.

    Not sure if it will fix your issue however check in Settings/Reading – If you have static page selected make sure Post Page is set to “Select”
    This fixed my issue may not fix yours but worth a try. 🙂

    How do you add the links?

    I think you should debug with chrome inspector or firebug and see if you have some javascript error. Because when you use some plugins like visual composer for page builder or something and you’ve JS involved in showing you content dynamically there could be an error in loading specific content after loading ab buggy shortcode or something…

    so how does your page look like, in the debugging tools, is the content really not there (I don’t guess this is the case) or is it just not in the right place because something could not load (what I expect)…

    Links added in the Page whilst writing simple link to another page in the site.

    Thank you for the reply my answer above seemed to solve the problem for me not user how or why but problem at this stage is gone.
    I will keep your post in my files and revert to the solution should it happen again.

    My page title is there but isn’t showing up in the menu or on the page itself. Have no idea what is wrong. Here is the page. It’s like it’s invisible.

    Thanks, Malte and Brian for your help – I’ve tried both suggestions, but haven’t yet come up with anything! I think there may be an error in the original install somewhere, so am going to try a fresh install.
