 * Hello,
 * I am trying to build a site using foundationPress skeleton theme and I am having
   troubles getting my head around how to add features and code to it. for example
   the footer is empty at the moment, is it correct to just add html to the footer.
   php or do you use plugins? What is the best way add code to wordpress?

 * The best way to edit any theme is to create [child theme](https://codex.wordpress.org/Child_Themes)

 * Hi
 * Yes i am aware of child themes, but I was asking more in the sense of adding
   code to different sections of the site as you would with a site without wordpress
