# Adding Content from External Database

 * Hi,
    I have an existing website which gets some content from an exsiting database
   using PHP / mySQL. I am trying to re-do my website in WordPress. I’ve read some
   posts but it all seems a bit overwhelming. I need a simple explanation of how
   to connect to to an external database and insert data into wordpress pages. If
   anyone could please help me with which files I would need to edit and what I 
   need to do, I would really appreciate it.
 * I am used to using Dreamweaver to insert recordsets into my pages. Is this at
   all possible to use Dreamweaver recordsets to insert info into WordPress pages?

 * A simple explanation is not really possible. Answering your question isn’t possible
   without knowing more about the source of the data, e.g. database type, formatting,
   etc. It could be as simple as grabbing an existing title and content and shoving
   it into wordpress directly, or the data may need to be massaged a bit before 
   the insertion.
 * Most likely you are going to need to custom code to get the job done.
