 * I’m working with someone who would like to use MailPoet to notify users about
   upcoming events. (In this particular case, Modern Tribe’s Events Calendar is
   being used for the event management.)
 * Building the template and populating it with content has been extremely simple
   and straight-forward — thank you! — however, there was a request to include date&
   time information along with the excerpt, so I’m curious to know if modifying
   a post notification newsletter to include custom content is possible/will be
   in the near-future, or if there’s another way around this. (Perhaps an excerpt
   filter that would allow for the relevant date fields to be prepended/appended?)
 * While the manual excerpt field could be utilized here, this person is hoping
   not to have to resort to that because:
    1. They don’t want to have to retype information they’ve already entered.
    2. It would require modifying both their RSS feed and calendar template to prevent
       the dates & times from showing up in multiple places.
 * If the manual excerpt is the only way (at least for the foreseeable future) to
   implement this, that’s fine, I just want to confirm.
 * Thanks again, sure hope this message finds you well.

 * Hi there [@jtyarks](https://wordpress.org/support/users/jtyarks/),
 * At the moment there isn’t an easy way to do this even with custom code. You could
   in theory build a custom shortcode following this guide; [https://kb.mailpoet.com/article/160-create-a-custom-shortcode](https://kb.mailpoet.com/article/160-create-a-custom-shortcode).
 * But you’d have to check against the post ID and ensure the correct meta is pulled
   in. 🙂
 * Thanks!
