# Adding footer background image

 * Hi. I am using the 2011 default theme and I need to either add a background image
   to the footer, or make the background image I am using in the content area continue
   down into the footer. I have tried adding it in several places in the .css file
   to no avail. I was also surprised to find nothing while searching the wp forums
   and google. Any suggestions?

 * Don’t edit the Twenty Eleven theme. Instead [create a child theme for your customisations](http://codex.wordpress.org/Child_Themes).
   Once your child theme is active, you should be able to add a background image
   to the footer using CSS.
