# Adding html code to a post

 * I want to be able to embed a YouTube video in to a post, but every time I attempt
   to copy and paste the html code in on the CODE tab when writing a post, it won’t
   save it.
 * How do I see/edit/write pure html mark up in a post?

 * Disable completely the wysiwyg monster.
    + search around – it has been asked 
   many times and there are many good advices.

 * I need the wysiwyg editor (it’s a client updating it, not me). I just need to
   be able to insert code as well. I did a search and couldn’t find an answer that
   fitted my needs. I’ll try again, but if someone can point me in the right direction,
   it would be greatly appreciated.

 * For the record (and anyone searching), I ended up installing the plug-in found
   at [http://bassistance.de/2006/04/12/wordpress-youtube-plugin/](http://bassistance.de/2006/04/12/wordpress-youtube-plugin/)
   for YouTube and it works really well.
 * Turning off the visual editor really wasn’t an option for me, and even when I
   did, the code didn’t embed properly anyway.
