 * Sorry for beiung a dumbass, but I even do not manage to set the basics for a
   translation.
I want to translate the theme file (core language: English of course)
into German. So I selected New language, added German. When I want to edit, I
get just the basic theme Titles and not the languge files. Underneath this bar,
there is a message which says „Additional files found“ – which is the core language
file called „English (Template) I want to translate. But when I click on that,
I cannot translate itm just overwrite the English version. How do I import the
strings (669 altogether) tro translate them? Here’s the screenshot: [http://pasteboard.co/RhXwRplTy.png](http://pasteboard.co/RhXwRplTy.png)
   Thanks, Markus

 * Themes with multiple text domains require you to configure Loco Translate to
understand what all the files are for and where the strings are. Please see the
   manual: [https://localise.biz/wordpress/plugin/manual#configure](https://localise.biz/wordpress/plugin/manual#configure)
 * If your theme is not set up in a way that just works automatically, you will
have to either configure it yourself or ask the author to make the theme compatible
with Loco Translate. See page for authors on compatibility: [https://localise.biz/wordpress/plugin/authors](https://localise.biz/wordpress/plugin/authors)

 * OK, thanks for the reply, will try to work that out. But it seems there is just
   one language file.
    Cheers, Markus

 * Your screenshot shows two templates.
The number of language files isn’t relevant.

 * It seems to have been a theme issue, I edited the .po with PoEdit and then uploaded
the .po/.mo files via FTP to my child themes directory. Now Loco Translate has
access to it and it works like charme 🙂
    Thanks for taking your time!
