 * Hi im new to wordpress so any help would be grateful, i want to make a new page
   with same functions as the home/index page so i have tried copying the index 
   page and editing html etc but when i try to link to the page it says file not
   on server.So do i need to put the file else where or is there a better way of
   doing this.

 * Why not you create a new page going to pages->create new page, on your wordpress
   dashboard.

 * Garry-I did this, but it’s not working. When it’s done and I click “view page,”
   I get Error 404 page not found.

 * Looking at that now. It looks like it only relates to posts though, not pages…

 * A page is actually a post, but then with different characteristics.
 * Did you or did you not tinker with the permalink settings?

 * I did. Changed them from Default to /%year%/%postname%/
