# Adding php code to wordpress pages?

 * Hi,
    Does adding php code to wordpress static pages work? I’m trying to create
   a static page with that includes a wordpress function (creating a custom archives
   page).

 * No, it never works. You cannot add php code to the content.
    You put your code
   into the Page template (or any other template file).
 * As for an archives Page… just study the default theme’s archive**s**.php Page
   template. (Not to be confused with archive.php which is a different thing)
