 * Fresh off the blogging boat, and never having used wordpress I am unable to find
   where on Longevity 1.4.3 I can make my posts visible on the website.
 * Within the admin-wp area of my website under dashboards is “posts”. Clicking
   on it takes me to my posts. After publishing them and then viewing on my website
   page it doesn’t go to the post when I click on the read more link. Instead I
   get a page not found.
 * I am watching youtube video: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Oiov0L4blIw](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Oiov0L4blIw)
 * At 24:35 the author makes reference to a ‘slider page’ that he goes to under
   the appearance page and enters the post name into. Where is this equivalent on
   longevity? I am lost at this time. Please help me!

 * First thing to find out is what is your Permalinks setting that you selected
   from Settings >> Permalinks ?
 * Also, do you have a link to your site? I can do a quick check of the code.
 * Regarding the slider page and video you watched, it depends on the theme being
   used because each theme if it includes a built-in content slider, can do that.
   Longevity does not have a built-in content slider. There are plugins that can
   be installed into your website that can do that kind of thing though.
 * But, it sounds like the priority here is to get your post to show instead of
   Page Not Found.

 * Permalink is set at [http://www.aquaponicsworks.com](http://www.aquaponicsworks.com)
 * That’s also the name of the website url. The curves on the homepage seem appropiate
   to the subject matter which is why I chose it. So, if a widget is necessary to
   use for a content slider, what widget do I need to download?

 * For permalink settings, this is found in the Admin area if you go to Settings
   >> Permalinks
 * You should see a list of options like:
 * Plain
    Day and Name Month and Name Numeric Post Name ….etc.
 * Which one are you using, or are you using a custom one? When I looked at your
   post links on the titles and Read More button, each post has the same link:
 * [http://www.aquaponicsworks.com/What_Is_Aquaponics](http://www.aquaponicsworks.com/What_Is_Aquaponics)?
 * I would also recommend not naming a category as “Archives” because WordPress
   already has that functionality built in. Perhaps renaming your category to something
   different?
 * We’ll tackle the content slider after the above is solved…

 * Ok thank you, changing the permlink fixed accessing the blog articles on all
   the posts. Is a slider still necessary then? With the category archive I was
   trying to get a horizontal menu option above the fold, but just haven’t figured
   it out yet. I am hoping the youtube video will have it there.

 * That video only applied to that theme he was showing. But sliders are used for
   displaying a series of images, images with caption text, content, etc. There
   a ton of sliders available as plugins, so it really depends on what you need.
   Check out the [https://wordpress.org/plugins/smart-slider-3/](https://wordpress.org/plugins/smart-slider-3/)
   plugin and it’s demos to see if that works for your needs.
 * As for a menu, you will need to make a custom menu for your site. I have a series
   of basic setup tutorials you can check out, and one there will help you make
   a menu.
