Adding related items

At the bottom of each page of my products.. There are a list of 4 related products/items. Right now, it is a random selection. I would like to change them to be products of my choosing. How do I change them? I thought it would be under “cross-sells” .. .but when I added to that, it did not change the related items. I need someone to tell me how it is done.
