# Adding second site to multisite and images disappeared

 * Hi,
 * On a week old WordPress multisite I added a second site yesterday from a UpdraftPlus
   backup.
 * Now the images from the first site are all gone – I can’t find any trace of them.
 * The second site appears to have created new empty folders where the image files
   from the first site were. The links to images are all missing.
 * Is this possible? If this what happened, why? And how do I prevent it from happening
   again?

 * Thanks for that link.
 * I suspect that the culprit was the way I used Updraft – it didn’t recognize the
   first site and overwrote the images in the multisite.
 * I’m looking to see why it would do that so that it never happens in future.
