# Adding Themes and Plugins button missing

 * Hello,
 * I the button to be able to add new Themes and Plugins is missing. I tried searching
   in my file manager for my wp-config file to change the define(‘DISALLOW_FILE_EDIT/
   MODS'”) but that is missing from my config file. I did not initially download
   or setup the live version of this site. I only created the staging to test updates
   and what not. Can someone please help to figure out how I can get the option 
   to add new themes and plugins?

 * The buttons should only be available if you are logged in as a user with an administrator
   role. Is that you?

 * With Multisites you can only install plugins in the network admin. Take a look

 * I do not have a network admin option in the drop-down menu. I only see my site
   name.

 * Then you are not super admin but just admin or editor of a site within a multisite
   installation, if it is one.
 * You can see whether it is one in wp-config.php. There should be entries there.
 * If it is really a multisite installation, you will have to contact the person
   who is really super admin.

 * In the users panel it shows I am under the super admin tab.
 * It appears yes, it is multisite:

 * This looks more like an individual role that may have only been given the name
   without actually being given relevant permissions. To solve your problems, you
   would have to contact the person who set up the project because we don’t know
   how the project is structured and individually configured.
