# Adding widgets to sidebar problem…

 * I’m trying to add
 * Categories
    Recent Postings and Archives to
 * the left side bar at knockballs.com
 * but they will not show.
 * I went to the editor and I see these theme files:
 *  Templates
 *  * Comments (comments.php)
    * Footer (footer.php) * Main Index Template (index.
   php) * Popup Comments (comments-popup.php) * Theme Functions (functions.php)
 * Styles
 *  * Stylesheet (style.css)
 * I’m assuming I have to add something? I’m not a coder, so I have no idea. I can
   some basic html stuff. Can someone help?

 * Your theme may not support widgets. Change themes to the WordPress Default theme
   and see if Widgets work?
 * If so, then may need to find a theme that does support widgets.

 * Try looking in sidebar.php for something like:
 * `<?php if ( !function_exists('dynamic_sidebar') || !dynamic_sidebar() ) : ?>`
 * If you can’t find any reference to `function_exists('dynamic_sidebar')`, it would
   suggest that your current theme’s sidebar isn’t widget ready.

 * I don’t have a sidebar.php, as you can see from the first posting…
 * Can I make it widget ready somehow by adding code somewhere or creating a sidebar.
