# Adding wp_header for Lightbox 2.8

 * I’ve been building my WordPress theme from scratch with the help of WPDesigner.

   tutorial.
 * This is what I have so far: [link](http://www.whetstoneads.com/blog/). It does
   not work in Internet Explorer, not even IE7. I know what I need to do to set 
   up and configure the alternate style sheet, but am waiting until the end to do
   that so that’s not really a concern.
 * So I had everything working and then installed Lightbox 2.8 for use by itself
   and with the Slickr plugin. I am really excited to have everything so well integrated
   instead of having to deal with a separate photolog system, blogging system, and
   gallery system.
 * I could not get Lightbox to work. In the FAQ, it mentioned that the template 
   had to include _wp\_header_. wp_header is not listed in the Codex’s tag list (
   that I could find) and generally when it is discussed, it is in a way that assumes
   the audience knows more about what they are doing than I do.
 * So how do I add wp_header to my template in a way that doesn’t get in the way
   of anything else. When I just plopped it down there, it pretty much broke everything
   so I apparently need to handle it carefully.
 * Thanks for your help! I was so proud that I had gotten as far as I had on my 
   own, but I really could use some help now.
