Try
9 Berkeley Court
Newton-Le-Willows
Merseyside
UK
WA12 9GL this will fail
The site is a portal for local people and includes the option for Haydock residents to post/display the events they organize.
Thinking about I would prefer not to use the Google related functions, some of people who would add items are not computer friendly and might need to add addresses that don’t have a lot of detail.
Sports Field
Park road
Haydock
That’s all a local resident would need.
A local parent organizing a kids football match would know “The Field” and the road but not necessarily a full address.
I think it would be better not to use the google functions, could you post an edit that would enable me to disable/remove them.

I am having the same issue with this address:
23448 105 Ave, Maple Ridge, BC V2W 1B4 Canada
This venue address problem makes this program worthless until it is fixed! As indicated by many others the requirement that it be a “street address” makes it such. I’ve had events calenders online since 1996, and post to other calendars daily… none.. require a “street address”.. One can enter “on the Village Green” for a concert or whatever and it posts as such. A 5k run does not start at a street address. A fishing derby does not start at a street address!
Further, I can place “Boathouse, Burlington, VT” in Google Maps and BINGO.. no problem. Even Further, the posting of the Link to the Description does not contain the name of the city, town or village… it simply lists…”Waterfront Park”… Waterfront Park WHERE????? It does not add “Burlington, VT”
I’ve spent HOURS on this program trying to have it output meaningful information to our visitors, but will not link to the Calendar until it delivers necessary info…
Please take a look at your Calendar on my blog and respond to the above problems. It will be much appreciated!
Forgot to include Calendar URL on my blog in prev message… URL: http://linkvermont.com/blog/?page_id=60
Feel free to use any number of plugins that don’t utilize location based events. They may work better for your needs.
Matt…
Thanks for the quick response. Sorry but I don’t understand what you mean by plugins that don’t utilize location based events??? Do you mean plugins for event-o-matic??? If so, please point me to them.
Please understand that I must, of course, let the public know the location of an event.
Bob
There are many event / calendar plugins for WordPress that do not require adding a location to the event. Try them and see if they better suit your needs.
