Admin Section is now restricted

I just got my site up and going last week in wordpress. I have been testing the posting and comments sections of the site, and I posted a comment last night that needs to be approved before it will publish to the site. THe problem I am having is that last week when I logged into the admin section I had access to all of the controls (pages, pluggins, settings etc.) now when I log in (I have not changed anything) my dashboard is restricted to a user profile tab and a dashboard tab that shows me stats, but I have no access or control to do anything. It is as if I have lost all admin privelages. I have done a lot of reading on the forum but nothing seems to address this issue specifically for my needs. Can someone please help.
