# Admin Theme Question For Developers

 * Since the wordpress website is very well designed, would there be any opposition
   from the developers if an updated stylesheet (wp-admin.css) was put together /
   posted that contained a few modifications to make the admin area similar to the
   general “wordpress product theme ” here? The main changes would be in the menu,
   as well as an addition of a background image for the page.

 * You can do whatever you want to your own version of WordPress, and if it is really“
   cool”, then post a link here to it on your site or consider adding the information
   to the Codex for consideration for addition.
 * That’s the joy of Open Source. And if you brag about it enough, and people love
   it enough…who knows what may happen.
 * What specific mods are you thinking of making, out of curiosity? I would LOVE
   to figure out how to to list more than 15 posts at a time and instead of just
   the date and search, add a drop down menu for setting the order of the posts 
   by category. Oh, and another thing, I’d add the post-slugs so I can easily see
   the name of the posts, helping me not reproduce them as well as making it easier
   to add a link to them by their permalink name.

   design of the WordPress site for his admin redo.

 * Oh. Ah, shoot, leave this alone, except for adding MORE numbers of results in
   the searches and a bit (just a tad) bit longer list of most recent threads. AND
   fix the problems I’ve whined about with the “My profile” on another thread….But
   leave the look alone. It’s boring and just fine for what this is. IMHO.

 * Kafkaesqui has it right, i don’t want to post it and piss people off. If the 
   default admin look suits someone than that’s awesome, but if you want it to look
   a little spiffed up, I just wanted to know if it would be cool or not to post
   what changes i’ve made. (I take no credit for the design.)

 * Why would anyone think the admin section off limits? In fact, I *thin* there’s
   even an initiative being worked on to create a “better” (being subjective) admin
   interface.
 * The admin section is very utilitarian, but that doesn’t mean we can’t throw some
   paint on the walls and lay down some carpet.

 * By no means is it off limits, but I didn’t design the changes that I made. I 
   thought that it might be nice to have the admin section resemble the wordpress
   look found here to solidify the wordpres appearence connection for myself. Thus
   I wanted to have Matt’s permission before posting it.
