 * Hi,
 * I always wondered if there were risks using a tool like Adminer… Right now I
   only have it on a local installation, but it a great tool…
 * Today, I had the notification tell me there was an update (1.4.5). At first,
   the update didn’t work, so I went looking for it in the WP repository… but couldn’t
   find it… All the links pointing to it (or sub-level like it’s support) are gone…
   Was there a problem with the plugin or it’s a problem with WP’s servers? There
   are more than 40 000 installation, so it’s not a small plugin…
 * Was finally able to do the update (since the info still appear in WP when a previous
   version is installed), but still can’t manually download it.

 * I was wondering the exact same thing. I always use it for easy 1-click backups
   on my live sites.
 * Adminer has completely disappeared from the wp plugins and I cannot find any
   information why.
 * If anyone knows please inform the rest of us.

 * Usually, the plugins team will take down a plugin if there’s a security vulnerability
   or some other reported violation in the plugin guidelines.
 * The plugin is still active in the SVN:
 * [http://plugins.svn.wordpress.org/adminer/trunk/](http://plugins.svn.wordpress.org/adminer/trunk/)
 * There has been no activity since the last release:
 * [https://plugins.trac.wordpress.org/log/adminer](https://plugins.trac.wordpress.org/log/adminer)
 * My guess is a new security vulnerability which has yet to be fixed, so beware
   if it’s on a live server, my advise is remove it completely and keep an eye out
   for the plugin page to hopefully reappear.
 * Sadly, the way this happens is just a sudden take-down without warning to users
   with the plugin installed. The author will have been emailed about it.
 * The idea behind this action is to prevent new users from downloading an unsafe
   plugin, however the downside is it gives no warning to those who already have
   it installed.
