adsense warning, points to this plugin

Got an email from Google about my Adsense:

“It has come to our attention that you are passing personally identifiable information (PII) to Google through your use of one or more of Google’s advertising products — DFP, AdSense, and/or DoubleClick AdExchange.

Our systems have detected information, including email addresses and/or passwords, being passed from the ad requests attached to this email.”

The code they provided showing what the problem is:
Url sample: http://www.mydomain.com/comment-subscriptions/[email protected]

Not sure if something changed, I’ve been using this plugin for years and only got this today. Help! Not sure what to do about it.

I couldn’t see how anything has changed with the plugin. I completely disabled it for the time being. Hopefully there will be a fix to this issue in the near future as I have MANY subscribers on my site, but making Google happy is number one priority : )

Hello guys,

Since the creation of the plugin this was not an issue, but now that Google improve they privacy scanners they have this policy that you cannot have sensitive data on a link.

The main issue is that the email address is on the query string.

I am going to work on this to get the bug fix ASAP.

Hello Reedyseth,

we are having this issue as well. I guess you can just obsfucate the email in the URL by using the salt from wp-config.php.
