age calculation default help

    hello, I have a field that calculates users age by their birthday using this:

    DATEDIFF(TODAY(), fieldname243 , 'yyyy-mm-dd','y') ['years']

    this returns -1 before user inputs birthday. how can I set the calculated field to be empty until birthday is selected? thanks!
