# All posts 'uncategorized' after HDD SQL failure

 * Hi All,
 * After a hard drive failure and replacement this morning, all of my WordPress 
   installs are “missing” their categories.
 * The categories are in the SQL DB, but all posts are listed as ‘uncategorized’.
 * Under “Categories” in the admin… the categories are “noted”
 * eg: 533 items pages 1-27 etc
 * but no categories are visible in the list.
 * I assume it is a taxonomy/relationship error.. but do not know how to fix it 
   at this stage.
 * Any help appreciated..

 * Solution to this problem was found.
 * Host had not given the /tmp directory/drive the correct permissions.
 * This create a problem similar to a “Failed to write to disk” problem that stops
   categories being displayed in the WP admin
