    I didn’t change any firewall settings but was having trouble with the new WP version so downgraded. After the downgrade, Wordfence started blocking all the users with logins to the site from either logging in or even visiting the homepage.

    Wasn’t a temporary block (so not rate limiting) but was a 503 error. Frustrating because the error code doesn’t really give any details, just says “blocked by login security setting.”

    Have been racking my brains trying to figure out which setting is causing this since I hadn’t changed any recently.

    Help! Even when I login through the email recovery and unblock everyone, we get reblocked within minutes.

    To be clear, your site upgraded to WP 5.6 and then downgraded to which version?

    Can you send a diagnostic report to wftest @ wordfence . com? You can find the link to do so at the top of the Wordfence Tools > Diagnostics page. Then click on “Send Report by Email”. Please add your forum username where indicated and respond here after you have sent it.

    Looks like your IP detection isn’t set correctly. This means the site is reading all traffic as the same IP, which is causing the blocks.

    Head over to your site and go to Wordfence > All Options > General Wordfence Options > How does Wordfence get IPs and select “Use the Cloudflare “CF-Connecting-IP” HTTP header to get a visitor IP. Only use if you’re using Cloudflare.”.

    Save the Settings and then this should resolve your issue. Let me know what you find!
