# Alter Default Gallery Shortcode

 * I am having difficulty figuring out how to alter the shortcode WordPress inserts
   as part of its default gallery functionality. The shortcode being generated looks
   like this:
 * [gallery ids="1,2,3,4"] where the numbers are image ids.
 * I would like it to automatically add link=”file” so that it looks like this:
 * [gallery link="file" ids="1,2,3,4"]
 * Where is the code I should edit and what exactly should I be editing?
