# Alternative kb solution?

 * I have just downloaded and installed and step 1 have already run into problems.
 * Trying to protect the page but get_post_type() returns empty as does get_page_template_slug()
   so I’m having challenges and then I come here and see that the support hasn’t
   been maintained – unanswered questions going back 3+ months…
 * So I guess I’m wasting my time… Has anyone found an alternate solution? Any recommendations?
