# Amazon Carousel

 * Hi,
 * I downloaded this plugin because I was interested in the carousel feature, but
   I’ve been having trouble with getting it to work. I’d like the carousel(s) to
   be on the sidebar, so I copied the template for the carousel in to a text post
   for a widget, then inputted the ASIN values, where it says ‘%ASINs%’, but the
   carousel doesn’t come up on my sidebar – it’s just all the text of the code. 
   I read here that you’re supposed to copy ‘[amazon template=carousel&asin=0893817449,0500410607,050054199X,
   0500286426,0893818755,050054333X,0500543178,0945506562]’ and paste it underneath
   the template for the carousel, replacing the values, but that hasn’t worked for
   me either.

 * Hi,
 * To get a carousel in the sidebar you need to:
 * 1/ Ensure you have the original template for the Carousel installed:
 *  – Go to your sites Admin screen for Amazon Link > Templates
    – Find the Carousel
   Template, then select ‘Reset’
 * 2/ Create a new blank text widget in the sidebar
 * 3/ In the widget paste the following code into the body of the text widget:
 *     ```
       [amazon template=carousel&asin=0893817449,0500410607,050054199X]
       ```
   
 * 5/ Check it displays on your site.
 * 6/ Change the list of ASINs `0893817449,0500410607,050054199X` to the ones you
   want to display.
 * Things to note:
 * The Carousel is based on Amazon provided javascript, it does not work on all 
   locales.
 * Because of this adblock software in your browser may stop the carousel being 
   displayed.

 * Hi Paul,
 * Thanks very much! I was able to get the carousel up on my sidebar, but it does
   not properly fit the bar – the books are quite spaced out, and only about 1/4
   of the products can be seen, and the rest just seem to go off the side of the
   computer screen. If you could tell me a way to fix this issue, I would greatly
   appreciate it. Thank you!

 * Hi,
 * The content and size of the carousel is determined by Amazon’s javascript widget,
   I’m not sure it is possible to change the size?
 * Check this page for any options:
 * [https://widgets.amazon.com/Widget-Source/](https://widgets.amazon.com/Widget-Source/)
 * EDIT: There are two options that you might be able to tweak:
 *     ```
       amzn_wdgt.width='600';
       amzn_wdgt.height='200';
       ```
   
 * Go the the Amazon Link Plugin > Templates admin page.
    Find the Carousel Template
   In the content adjust those two setting to suit. Save the Template See if it 
   fits.

 * Thanks very much – I was able to adjust the size. I was just wondering if there
   was a way to change the template from Amazon UK to U.S., as the links are leading
   to the U.K. Amazon website.

 * Hi,
 * Sorry for the delay in replying.
 * If you set the default country in the settings/setup page to US then all links
   will go to the US.
 * Alternatively install the ip2nation database / enable localisation then the links
   will be to the Amazon locale most suitable for the visitors location.
