 * Hi there,
 * I have some confusion about certain settings that I would like to clarify as
   two of the sites I am using it on do not appear to be working as expected. One
   of them has received zero analytical data since it was implemented two weeks
   ago and one does not appear to be blocking Google Analytics at all.
 * 1 – My first question. If I add Analytical scripts to the ‘head’ section of the
   analytical category then I assume this will now not execute until consent is
   given. In this case, what difference does it make if the categories default state
   is active or inactive? If selecting ‘accept all’ turns them all on, and selecting‘
   reject all’ turns them all off, then what bearing does the default state have?
 * Is it purely for if they just click on edit settings, they are either all enabled
   or disabled? But if they were to click reject, it would uncheck these all?
 * 2 – I read in your documentation that to check if a Google analytics script blocker
   is working, when you inspect the page, you can see the script type of Google
   is “text/plain” (not-working) and “text/javascript” indicates it is working.
 * However, even if I accept all the cookies, it STILL says text/plain which I assume
   is the reason our analytics are zero?
 * 3 – If you are manually adding a Google Analytics script, you would usually add
   this to your header.php file. When using your plugin, do users add it to the
   header.php file AND to the header scripts section of the analytical category
   or ONLY to header scripts section of the analytical category (point being that
   they do not add it to the header.php file as your plugin will inject it on consent.)
 * The site with zero data is using Monster insights. At the moment, I have the
   script blocker enabled and have added nothing to the head scripts in the analytical
   category as the Insights plugin is generating that script. I have advanced script
   rendering enabled and also have also set ALL the reloads after accept, reject
   and scroll to yes.
 * I feel like these settings are correct so any idea why there would be no data?
 * I will deal with the website that is not blocking scripts in a separate thread.
 * Thanks so much!

 * Hi [@shereewalker](https://wordpress.org/support/users/shereewalker/),
 * 1. To attain GDPR compliance, you cannot use pre-checked boxes. Refer [link](https://gdpr.eu/Recital-32-Conditions-for-consent/).
 * 2. Kindly ensure that after clicking accept, you are checking in the Developer
   console > **Elements tab** as mentioned in the article and **not in the page
   source**.
 * 3.Only add to the Head script field of any category and do not add it anywhere
   else such as in theme’s header.php.

 * Hi there,
 * Thank you very much for your response.
 * Do you think you could elaborate on question 1 – I still do not fully understand
   why it matters if they are enabled or disabled. I am currently using this on
   all my sites so it would be really helpful to fully understand this.
 * In regards to number 2 – I was looking in the page source – when I look in the
   developer console it appears to be working. Thank you for that clarification.
 * Do you think you could possibly check the url is working properly for me? I’m
   understand you don’t have the capacity to check everyones websites for them but
   the analytical stats have dropped from a healthy number to almost zero when the
   plugin was installed. Before I go back and confirm the plugin is working as expected,
   it would be great to have confirmation from you so I can troubleshoot elsewhere.
 * _[ redundant link removed ]_
 * I have followed your instructions on the script implementation. This particular
   site is Monster Insights so it the UA code is ONLY in the plugin settings and
   I have removed the script from the header.php on the other website.
 * Thanks agin for your help.
 * Best

 * Just to follow on from that last response, if analytical cookies are turned off
   be default and a user checks ‘Accept’ for ALL cookies – will this turn them on
   or are they expected to go in and manually turn on the toggle for analytics (
   which realistically, they will not). This links in with question 1.

 * Hi [@shereewalker](https://wordpress.org/support/users/shereewalker/),
 * If you have kept the category default state as ‘disabled’ and when user clicks
   the ACCEPT button, that settings will be accepted which means the category will
   remain disabled. Users will need to head over to cookie settings and toggle it
   to enabled state and then click accept to enable the category.
 * However, since you are using ACCEPT ALL button in your site now, the categories
   will be enabled right away after accept and this is working correctly in your
   site.

 * That’s great. Thank you very much for taking the time to go through this for
   me. I will make sure I leave a positive review for the plugin and the support.
 * Best
