Anchor link in menu button goes to blank page

I am having trouble with the anchor links on my site. The menu buttons are correctly made and when the mouse hovers over the button it shows the correct link (which works if you type it into the search field). However the button goes to a blank page with the correct address in the search field and if I hit refresh it works. Why does it do this middle step and how to I remove it?
