# another Permalink headache

 * I’ve read many, many posts but still can’t get postname URLs to work. Default
   in admin is to include blog DIR, like /blog/%postname%/
 * I’ve played around with htaccess with 644:
    BEGIN WordPress <IfModule mod_rewrite.
   c> RewriteEngine On RewriteBase /blog RewriteRule ^index\.php$ – [L] RewriteCond%{
   REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d RewriteRule . index.
   php [L] </IfModule> END WordPress
 * Also changed $base in wp-config from / to /blog. My site is set as network so
   may be additional issues to consider.
 * Super awesome if someone has the magic steps or thoughts.

 * I fixed it with two things.
    1) Working too quickly and missed the comment out
   for BEGIN and END 2) Did not need the /blog as part of the RewriteBase.
 * Here is what worked:
 * # BEGIN WordPress
    <IfModule mod_rewrite.c> RewriteEngine On RewriteBase / RewriteRule
   ^index\.php$ – [L] RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME}!-
   d RewriteRule . index.php [L] </IfModule> # END WordPress
 * FYI
    From my testing the wp-config worked with either / or /blog, but I switched
   it back to default of /
