# Apache and mod_rewrite

 * Ok, lets try this again. Someone please help me with my problem. I am running
   Apache2 on my own server and I would really like some help on configuring the
   http.conf file to allow .htaccess files to be processed. I tried setting allowoveride
   to every combination of options but the server always throws up and error when
   trying to serve any page if allowOverride is anything but None.
    Thanks in advance.

 * In my xampp setup, I have ‘AllowOverride All’ – have you got mod_rewrite enabled
   too ?

 * I really don’t want to be annoying, but ive been to sites with mod_rewrite enable
   archives so I know someone must know how to do this right. Please could someone
   take time out of their day and pity me and guide me in the way of Apache Mod_Rewrite?

 * I hope that you found the answer long before this, but I just “relearned” this(
   worked on one machine, not another)
 * Include “index.php” in the virtual site structure (located in Admin’s “Options–
   > Permalinks” tab)
 * For example, here’s what I have:
 * /index.php/%year%/%monthnum%/Úy%/%postname%/
 * Without index.php it no workee.
 * Hope this helps.
