 * I have recently downloaded and installed WordPress correctly. I need help on 
   this API Code. I do not have one? How may I get one?

 * you get it from WP.com site. Sign up there, establish a blog and you will get
   an API key for Akismet and stats. Yes it sounds weird but that is what you need
   to do.
 * Also, you can search here for more info but it pretty much is what I said above.

 * i followed these steps, received an api code from wp.com, entered it into plug-
   in at wp.org. I’m still getting spam, and ‘Akismet not active’ message at top,
   but the plug-in page shows ‘de-activate’ for akismet — what have i done wrong?
