# Is it possible to add an email address to the subscriber list with custom code?

 * Dear Support,
    First of all thank you for creating this plugin and sharing it
   with the community.
 * It there a standardize way (API?) to add an email by the PHP code to the “Email
   Subscribers & Newsletters” DB tables? Why I am asking? I would like to use your
   extension on a checkout page of my Woocommerce installation.
 * I was planning to add a checkbox “Do you want to receive updates?” and depending
   of its status take the email address from the checkout form and add it to subscriber
   list.
 * Is that possible?

 * Yes, there is. [This](https://plugins.trac.wordpress.org/browser/email-subscribers/trunk/query/db_subscriber.php#L98)
   is the function you can use.
